The stage is set for a turning point in world history. Barack Obama outlined it last night.
What we do not know is this: will we human beings permit it.
You know what we do to our champions, those who would raise us up to another level. Jesus Christ, Abe Lincoln, JFK, Martin Luther King Jr., RFK, Malcolm X. We kill the best within us by slaying those who would point the way. It becomes intolerable, the barely glimpsed potential to be freed of a lower self, unshackled from a lower state of consciousness, to be elevated to a higher self.
Obama is two things: a physical human being, and an avatar, a stalking horse, a symbol of what we might become. We are better than that, he says.
I hope that he is right.
I fear that he is not.
We shall see, in the coming months and years. We may turn a corner; we may fall back, again.
Our spiritual evolution is accelerating toward a deeper common knowledge. We are all one. We only have failed to understand what that idea means and how we can use it.
And so, a new opportunity. Let us seize the day.
